What ROAST IS BEST FOR YOU?

How a coffee is roasted can have a big impact on how it performs during brewing. Check out the profiles at right to find the one that’s best for you.

  • Our MAI roast is our lightest and has a short overall development time. These coffees are often bright, light-bodied and relatively acidic. We like them best for pour-over and other filter brewing—V60, Kalita Wave and Aeropress are our favorites.

  • ESP profile coffees are best for espresso brewing. They feature a slightly higher (darker) roast than MAI, which makes for a more viscous crema. They feature more caramelly flavors while retaining the acidic profile of an MAI roast.

  • Named for “Mom and Dad,” this darker roast profile is suited for automatic drip brewing. MND coffees are robust and smoky while featuring many of the flavor characteristics that initially drew us to the beans.
